The narrative
Once they have introduced the constraints they have to control the narrative. You must believe in their message and they will make sure their voice is the only voice you hear. If needed, they will discredit, vilify or get rid of other voices. They must also prevent anyone else to come up with solutions to the constraint they have introduced.
If an opposite voice has to emerge it will very likely come from their controlled opposition (see topic below).
